9 Year Old OTTB Bay Gelding in MAYFIELD, New South Wales for sale

Gus is a beautiful 9yr old OTTB gelding born 8⁄09⁄2006 who stands at 16hh (unmeasured), his racing name was St Augustine and was originally purchased at the Magic Millions Sale for $270,000. Gus finished a successful racing career 12mths ago and I purchased him with the dream of turning him into a dressage horse. In order to achieve this Gus and I undertook lessons with a Lvl 2 Equestrian Coach which involved working on his collection, transitioning, seat and leg aids. In being honest I want to say I was never a dressage rider (sporting background) and therefore I believe my lack of knowledge would not help him get near the ability I believe he has, furthermore sadly due to work commitments I do not have time to continue his training which is unfortunate. This boy is dead quiet and does not blink an eye when you are ridding him and like any thoroughbred loves too please. I believe he would suit an intermediate rider but in saying this my 12yr daughter rode him at JRC recently in a group of 8 other horses and he did not put a hoof wrong. He loves attention, is very snugly, stays still when you are mounting⁄dismounting him, is not girthy and has no vices along with this he is not rushy and is very patient. The photos of Gus are recent with most of them being taken today, currently he is a bit fluffy which I suppose comes with living in Goulburn otherwise his coat is beautiful and shiny. The only reason I am selling him is because we would like to see him go to someone who can assist him to excel in dressage etc and I do not have the time or skill.
